iConnect is designed to:
- Cultivate EL Alliance mentor-protégé relationships by providing discussion forums for their interactions
- Be a resource center for EL Alliance mentors and protégés
- Provide information about personal and professional opportunities, such as scholarships, internships, and conference participation.
- Facilitate the creation of new partnerships among EL Alliance students, faculty, and participating institutions
- Inform the EL Alliance community of computing related events
- Enable the sharing of knowledge, ideas and resources for rising minority computing scholars
- Meet leaders in the field of computing
